I don’t think I made it very clear but last month I was sexually assaulted by someone who I thought was my friend (I don’t want to talk about it don’t ask), and it’s… really fucked with my head.
Had I known this a month ago I would have been able to get away.
So, essentially, I’m really pleading with you to reblog this so everyone who follows you doesn’t get stuck in the same position I was with no way out.

Don’t have spoons for long explanation – also this is only speaking for christianity – but religion has been a force of oppression for women, people of color, and lgbt+ people and the rejection of the religion is often coupled with the rejection of how religion treats them.
I’ll also say that abuse survivors are included in this because it is a reaction to and an attempt to reconcile how (christian) god would allow abuse to happen.
For straight white men atheism is usually rooted in intellectual and rational superiority complexes. It’s a “i am more rational and intelligent than you, how can you believe in something so obviously fake” thing as opposed to a reaction to a societal institution that upholds their oppression and abuse.
Women, PoC, Queer people, immigrants, trauma survivors, etc: How can I believe in something that teaches you to be cruel? How can I trust the books that tell me of peace and love, when you use your faith to hurt me? How can a loving god allow [insert injustice of the day]?
White Men: I, as an Intellectual, eschew silly superstitions that say I might, someday, after my death, face one (1) single consequence.
Thor comes across a nice little food joint on midgard and ends up liking the first dish he gets so he orders one of everything on the menu. What did they
even want? How long had he been here? How many times was he poked? How many
more times would he be forced to fight?
He couldn’t
take it anymore.
A crash. An
alarm.
An opportunity.
“Watch out!”
“You fool!”
“What have you
done?!”
“DON’T LET THEM
ESCAPE!”
“DON’T LET HIM ESCAPE!”
Hands grabbed
at him, more pain followed in an effort to subdue him, but he wasn’t going to
allow it.
Then cold.
Endless, hopeless, death-bringing cold. He curled into his coils, trying to
conserve what heat he could, trying to stay alive.
The little
lamia slowly began to lose hope as the heat from his body seeped into the air.
He supposed this was better than being in that “lab,” at least this death would
be on his own terms.
But then there
was a voice, and there was warmth.
A very warm
soul.
Monsters had
warm souls?
There was
movement, a burst of fear, a failed attack attempt, and then only darkness.
Warm.
So warm. Cozy, too.
But,
how? Why? Did he die? Was he in heaven?
The
lamia slowly blinked his eyes open. He was lying completely uncoiled on a soft
surface and was covered by something else that was quite soft. He instinctively
began coiling up, readying himself to attack or flee, just in case.
Attack?
Wait…
He
lifted a hand to his mouth and hissed in pain; one of his fangs had broken off,
and the area was still tender.
If
he was feeling pain, then maybe he was still alive, after all.
A
sound outside the room drew his attention. It sounded like footsteps. Someone
was coming.
Hide! Hide! Hide!
The
lamia slithered to the floor and under the bed. He curled up as far underneath
it as he could, peeking over his coils and waiting.
The
door opened, and a monster hesitated at the door. A pair of bare, skeletal feet
paused, stance wide.
Escaping
that way wasn’t an option.
The
door shut, and the feet came closer, making the lamia hiss in warning.
“What
the-?”
The
monster bent down and looked under the bed. His face looked kinder than the
other monsters the lamia had seen, but he didn’t know whether this one was
trustworthy, and hissed at him again.
“Now,
now, don’t be like that,” the monster said. “Come on out, I brought you food.”
The
lamia didn’t move.
“Did
you hear what I said?” the monster’s voice turned irritated. He reached under
the bed, but the lamia pressed against the wall and let out another low hiss.
Papyrus
felt anger growing; was this creature stupid? Did it not know he was the one
who saved his life?
But
as Papyrus took another look at the glowing red eyes, he remembered that it had
been hurt, it was scared, and it still was – considering it was backing away
instead of attacking.
Taking
a deep breath, he stood back up.
“My
apologies, the Great Papyrus forgot that perhaps you are not ready, but I will
wait until you are.”
Papyrus
turned towards his computer chair and pulled it away from his desk. He took the
plate of lasagna that he has set on his nightstand and put it on the floor by
the chair, and then pulled out a book to read while he waited patiently for his
guest.
It
took a while, but the smell of food became alluring to the tip of the lamia’s
tongue, and he slowly moved to the edge of the bed. He looked up at Papyrus,
who was still reading.
The
skeleton glanced over the top of his book, the lamia flinched but did not
retreat. Papyrus smiled and began reading the paragraph he was on.
“A
pulley system is the smartest way to place a trap in your puzzle,” he read.
“While your target is mesmerized by the intricate system you have put in place
to make it work, your trap can come down on your target before it even knows
what it’s in for.”
As
Papyrus read, the lamia slowly slithered out. Papyrus paid him no attention,
staying focused on his book, until he heard a slurping sound. He glanced down
and saw the lamia eating up the food.
