A commission for @tyranttortoise who asked to receive some good ol’ fashioned Papyrus hugs! ;w; I drew Papyrus is a softer serface friendly outfit for maximum cuddles! (Because I don’t think his battle battle body is very squishable)

Thank you so much for commissioning me, Ty! ;o; and if you guys aren’t following Ty and not reading SSLL then you’re seriously missing out!! I highly HIGHLY recommend it!

I wanted to draw a toydul on Ty’s shirt but Paps is covering it too much with his big muscle arms. So the tortoise is implied 8′D

AHHHHHHHHHHH C-PUFF YOU’RE AMAZING!!

I love you. ♡ Thank you so much for bringing this masterpiece into my life. It’s now my phone’s wallpaper. x]

Cute things from the book that weren’t mentioned in the Love Simon movie

fictionfreakazoid:

For those of you who will stubbornly never read the book (I definitely suggest reading the book if you’re open to that though, it is phenomenal and honestly a bit more romantically sappy than the movie), here are a few things from the book that weren’t shown in the movie (that wouldn’t drastically alter the movie)

  • Blue’s email username comes from his full name: Abraham Lou Greenfield, or bluegreen
  • Calvin (the blond theater kid) is bi in the book
  • Bram dragged his best friend to see Simon’s play 3 times

I know that the movie is only based on the book so although I did take note of differences between the two, I enjoyed both

Feel free to add to this list, I read the book a few months ago and my memory is garbage (although I made an effort to remember the gems from that book) so I don’t remember everything

What I love about the scene where Simon’s dad apologizes for everything he’s said is that after he mentioned the jokes and Simon said “I know you didn’t mean them” he said “It doesn’t matter” because…. yeah, it didn’t matter if he meant them or not. They still hurt Simon and they were still harmful jokes- coming from a place of ignorance rather than hate. And it’s nice to see someone acknowledging that even jokes you don’t mean can hurt. Because so often you hear people defend themselves making shitty jokes by saying “oh, I’m kidding! why are you so offended?” instead of trying to understand how those jokes can really hurt someone.

that quote from love, simon “these last few years, it’s almost like i can feel you holding your breath. you can exhale now, simon.” hit me so hard. it’s so rare to find a line that so perfectly describes what it’s like being closeted and how scared and isolated you feel. i can’t even put into words how important this movie is to me and i’m so glad the lgbt community is finally getting the kind of good representation we’ve always deserved.
